Water Lily

Lovely pink water lilies perfectly paired with a refreshing green tea. 

This was fun to create thinking about the ancient art of brewing tea with water, the peacefulness of sitting beside a tranquil lily pond, placing the lily pads and flowers on the cup and saucer, choosing the various green hues contrasted with pink and blue, and knowing Green Tea would be the perfect tea for this card. I continued the Asian theme on the back with watercolor bamboo shoots. 

I once attempted to learned the art of painting bamboo with black ink on rice paper with Asian paint brushes, without much success. It takes a quick hand and a bold stroke. I loved painting this green bamboo background in watercolor in my own stye.
